We seek to welcome all our guests as Christ himself, who comes in the guise of the guest to our Houses and to our souls also.

Most of our Community Houses have some facilities for guests, but provision is made differently in each house according to circumstances.

At St Mary’s Convent, the Guest Wing is a still place, enabling space and spiritual refreshment for all who come. Everyone is welcome at the Eucharist and Daily Office in St Mary’s Chapel.

Facilities include a sitting room with a library, a dining room, informal quiet room, and art room. Tea and coffee are readily available. There are 15 bedrooms including one double room. Rooms are not ensuite but there is a ground floor bedroom with shower for those with special needs.  There is also a small flat with ensuite facilities and a small oratory.

For Group Retreats and Group Quiet Days we offer a spacious room with its own kitchen attached.
Those coming for individual Quiet Days are allocated a room, and are able to share in a meal in the Guests’ Dining Room in the middle of the day, if they so wish.

From time to time, sisters in the Community offer Open Days of Silence and Reflection.

In our smaller Houses, hospitality is first of all Eucharistic, with others invited to share in the sacrament with the Community in that House. Meals may also be shared, or companionship on the spiritual path, or people may take the opportunity to be still and take stock on a Quiet Day or part of a day.
